Storage Terms

Self-storage Self storage offers both personal and business users a storage solution that they can control themselves. If you use a Self-storage facility you will have to pack and bring your goods into the provided storage space.
Self storage is a secure solution because the storage unit you hire can only be accessed by yourself.

Pickup and Delivery Service The goods which need to get stored will be picked up and delivered from and to your home or business facility.

Short time storage: Means that you only want to store goods for a short time for instance before it can be shipped overseas or at the destination until you have found a house.
It is considered as short time if the period stays under 90 days.

Long time storage: Means that you want to store good or items for a period which is longer then 90 days. For example when you go abroad for a long time and don't want to take your household with you.

Insurance If your standard home contents insurance policy doesn't cover Storage, you will have to look at either extending it or taking an additional policy elsewhere to insure your goods adequately.

Climate control If the storage facility offers climate controlled storage your belongings will be protected against any rapid change of external temperatures. It may also provide a cleaner environment which will keep items cleaner and fresher. Used for e.g. musical equipment, Pharmaceutical products, computer and books.

Payment You will probably be offered a variety of ways of paying for your self-storage facility. These can include cash, credit and debit cards, checks, direct debit and pre-payment options. Many self-storage companies prefer a regular direct debit agreement as it guarantees that your payment will be made regularly.
